Greetings from Corpus Christi Church Dear Parishioners, The Season of Lent begins with Ash Wednesday on March 9. Lent is a period of forty days in preparation for Easter. Lent reminds us of our baptismal call to build community, to strengthen our bonds through love and reconciliation. We invite all our parishioners to come and participate in our Lenten parish activities. Heeding the call of Bishop Henry for this year’s Together in Action 2011 campaign, let “The Light of Our Hope Guide Our Actions. We have this hope, a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul.” (Hebrews 6:19) Our parish share to the Diocesan campaign goal of two million dollars has not been announced; however it is probably close to our 2010 goal of $29,992.00. Thank you to all who contributed to a second last minute appeal; we exceeded our goal for 2010 by $6,100.00 and installed energy efficient windows in the office area. The guidelines of the Together In Action 2011 campaign again stipulate that parishes that exceed the target may use excess funds for parish capital projects. We hope to exceed our goal again this year, as we have to upgrade the sound system and we need to replace the fluorescent lighting fixtures as we move to improving our energy-efficiency. Help spark the light of hope against the darkness. In helping others, we help our own parish. Through our Lenten preparations, let us anticipate the Easter season of joy together as a parish family. Yours at the service of the Lord and His people, Rev. Raul Ranola Parish Priest
