Greetings from Corpus Christi Church
Dear Parishioners and members of the Catholic school system,
A very special Thank You for the support you provide to OUR parish.
As we begin another school year, we wish to work together with our schools, to be able to be of service to you and your children. Working together – families, school and church – will hopefully enhance our communities and will give a well-rounded education to our youth.
We invite you to celebrate with us in our parish as I also continue to visit our schools. You are also invited to attend our parish celebrations to enhance your family’s faith journey. As a parish community, we welcome you to “come to the well”, be refreshed and take advantage of the opportunity to meet others with the same values and beliefs.
Weekend Masses:
- Saturday – 5:00 pm
- Sunday Masses – 9:00 am and 11:00 am
On September 11th at 5 pm and on Sunday, September 12th at the 9 am and 11 am Mass, we will bless the School Children and the School Teachers as they begin their school year. We encourage you to bring your children, bring your nieces and nephews to this special event to be held at the Weekend Sunday Masses. We invite all teachers to come for a blessing as they begin their ministry anew of guiding our children through their year.
Registration for the sacraments
First Holy Communion, First Reconciliation and Confirmation will be held the same weekend after all Sunday Masses and we encourage you to register so that we can order the textbooks for the classes.
Registration for the 11 am Sunday Mass Support Programs:
- for the Sunday with Jesus program for 4 and 5 year olds
- and for the Children’s Liturgy Program for those in school (up to and including Grade Three) is also taking place this weekend.
Please be reminded that you made a commitment to journey with your children, taking on “the responsibility of training them in the practice of the faith” when they were baptized.
And going further, on your wedding day, you said “Yes” to “accepting children lovingly from God and bringing them up according to the law of Christ and the Church” (wedding ceremony).
If you as a parent wish to receive your sacraments, please contact the parish office. We will be happy to assist you.
We invite you either individually or, as a family to celebrate with us, make some new friends and reconnect with some old friends. I wish you all a safe, productive and faith-filled year.
Yours in Christ Jesus, Risen Lord,
Rev. Raul Ranola, Parish Priest
